Program and Career Focus Civil engineers plan, design, construct, operate and maintain public infrastructure, such as buildings, dams, bridges, harbors, power facilities, pollution control facilities, water supply, and transportation systems. Construction engineers develop construction and management processes that produce better living and working environments for individuals and the public. Environmental engineers analyze the impact of human activity on the environment and develop solutions for solid waste management, air pollution, water quality, water supply, wastewater treatment, hazardous waste, and public hygiene.
