In partnership with Engineering Online in the College of Engineering, the Department of Civil, Construction, and Environmental Engineering at NC State University has delivered graduate courses to distance learners since 1982. The department has increased the number of distance education courses and now offers a Master of Civil Engineering (MCE) degree through distance education. The MCE degree program is not the same as the Master of Engineering degree program, which has different requirements.

The MCE degree program is designed for students with prior engineering degrees in related areas of study. Substantial make-up course work is required for applicants without prior engineering degrees. The make-up requirements are not generally available by distance.

If you are interested in obtaining an MCE degree through distance education or if you would just like to take some civil engineering graduate courses through distance education, please take a moment to explore this site and view our video.

The video link on this page provides an orientation for prospective and newly admitted students.
