Distance Education MCE General Plans of Study

You may take a general selection of courses planned by your advisor and you to meet flexible Civil Engineering program and Graduate School requirements. We offer a general or "multidisciplinary" option for the MCE degree in which you may select courses from multiple areas within the department. These areas are as follows:

Computer-Aided Engineering

Construction Engineering and Management

Environmental Engineering

Geotechnical/Geoenvironmental Engineering

Structures and Mechanics

Transportation Systems and Materials

Water Resources and Coastal Engineering

For example, a student with interests in highway design and construction may wish to take a mix of courses in transportation, geotechnical engineering, construction engineering and management, and water resources and environmental engineering. A student interested in construction and related topics might select courses from construction engineering and management, construction materials, and geotechnical engineering course offerings.

You also may propose your own individualized plan of study based on our course offerings and supporting courses from other departments.
