Post-Baccalaureate Studies (PBS) Program
You may take courses as a non-degree student in the PBS program. We
recognize that some students may just want access to specialty courses
that support their career objectives or that help them meet professional
development hour requirements for maintaining their licenses.
If you want to take some courses and decide later about pursuing a
degree, you may take up to 12 credits of appropriately selected courses
in PBS status that can count toward the MCE degree. However, it is preferable
to seek admission as soon as possible to assure integration into the
advising process. PBS courses with grades of B- or less cannot be transferred
to MCE.
Students register for individual courses through Engineering
Online. Students who wish only to take a few courses do not need
to apply for formal academic admission to NC State. However, students
who wish to earn the MCE degree must formally apply for admission.
