Leslie E. Robertson

Leslie E. Robertson is a world-renowned structural engineer responsible for the structural design of hundreds of buildings worldwide, including three of the world's tallest skyscrapers. He was the chief engineer of the World Trade Center in New York and was responsible for the design of the building's sway reduction features. Robertson was also the structural engineer for the Shanghai World Financial Center, the world's second-tallest building and the tallest by roof. He is a member of the National Academy of Engineering and was named one of Engineering News-Record's "125 Top People of the Past 125 Years."

About the Paul Zia Distinguished Lecture Series
The Paul Zia Distinguished Lecture Series was established in 2002 to honor the accomplishments of Dr. Paul Zia, Distinguished University Professor Emeritus of Civil Engineering at North Carolina State University (NCSU). Dr. Zia is a leading figure in the fields of concrete and structural engineering and served as head of the Department of Civil, Construction, and Environmental Engineering at NCSU for nine years. He is a member of the National Academy of Engineering.
This lecture series is presented by the Constructed Facilities Laboratory (CFL) and the Department of Civil, Construction, and Environmental Engineering at NC State University.
