Civil, Environmental and Construction Engineering (CE&C) Extension Services
Civil, Environment and Construction Engineering (CE&C) extension activities
are offered through the Institute of Construction of the Department of Civil Engineering
at NC State University (NCSU). Mr. Roberto A. Nuñez, PE, and Mr. Edwin
C. Weaver, PE, are the extension specialists and co-coordinators of this work.
Since Mr. Nuñez and Mr. Weaver joined the University, CE&C extension
practice building efforts focused on reviewing previous work, reestablishing
relationships, continuing previous services while working in a new strategic
direction for the CE&C program. As a result, the CE&C specialists produced
a strategic plan that incorporates new service offerings to enhance NCSU's support
to the construction industry. Applied research and technology transfer services
have been added to existing programs in technical and safety related training
as well as technical support. The CE&C plan is consistent with a new vision
to cover the breadth of civil, environmental and construction engineering and
include international and bilingual components to match current globalization
trends.
