ACI/NCDOT Concrete Field Technician Grade 1 Certification School

The Department of Civil, Construction, and Environmental Engineering at North Carolina State University (NCSU) have entered into an agreement with the North Carolina Department of Transportation Materials and Tests Unit (NCDOT-M&T) to provide training and continuing education to concrete industry clients.

NCSU will support of the NCDOT Materials and Tests Unit providing Concrete Field Technician certification in accordance to ACI and NCDOT requirements. NCSU has outstanding concrete professionals and educators with a long and distinguished association with the American Concrete Institute, and one of the most modern and complete laboratory facilities in the United States.

The NCSU Concrete School is held at NCSU facilities and follows the same format as the NCDOT Concrete School and requires three (3) days to complete. ACI and NCDOT Certifications will be awarded after demonstration of adequate performance on field and written ACI and NCDOT examinations. The classroom portion of the training will be held in Mann Hall on North Campus or at the Research IV Building on Centennial Campus (a confirmed class location will be provided after registration). The field portion of the course will be held at the Constructed Facilities Laboratory (CFL), located on NCSU's Centennial Campus (location map). The CFL offers a controlled environment; therefore, the field tests will go on rain or shine.

The classes will be limited to only 25 students on a first-come first-serve basis. After you register, and pay the appropriate fees, you will receive a confirmation letter and a map to the class location (within one week of the course), along with a copy of the NCDOT Concrete Field Technician Study Guide and the CP-1 (07) Technical Workbook for ACI Certification of Concrete Field Testing Technician-Grade 1 to help you prepare for the class.
