Dr. Seracino is interested in the application of advanced fiber reinforced polymers (FRP) in civil engineering, particularly in the development of FRP systems for the repair or strengthening of existing infrastructure.
Rudi Seracino is an Associate Professor in the Department of Civil, Construction, and Environmental Engineering and the Associate Director of the Constructed Facilities Laboratory at North Carolina State University, USA. His research interests are broadly categorized as the application of advanced materials and systems to enhance the resilience of critical civil infrastructure. His research includes large-scale laboratory testing, and analytical and numerical modeling.
He is on the executive committee of the International Institute for FRP in Construction, co-chair of the American Concrete Institute subcommittee ACI 440M on FRP Strengthening and Repair of Unreinforced Masonry Structures, and editorial board member of the ASCE Journal of Composites for Construction.
