Environmental Systems Analysis

INDEX || General || Faculty || Research Areas || Degrees || Courses || Seminars || Facilities || Policies

Environmental systems analysis employs quantitative tools to examine systems such as rivers, lakes, coastal waterways, and airsheds and to develop management strategies for controlling discharges of pollutants. Simulation models are used to model the transport and transformation of pollutants in receiving bodies. Optimization models are also used, especially to examine management strategies. Quantitative methods support policy analysis and decision making for a wide range of environmental problems. Programs of study combine environmental systems core courses and electives in quantitative methods or environmental economics with traditional courses in environmental engineering.
