Research Assistant Professor, (Biological and Agricultural Engineering Dept.), Ph.D., Civil Engineering, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign
Dr. Liehr's current research centers on using an ecological approach to biological processes and contaminant removal. The goal of this research is to improve biological treatment processes for removal of conventional and hazardous pollutants and to recycle components of the waste stream into useful products. Ecological aspects of biological systems such as interaction of biological species and the interaction of chemical, physical, and biological factors are of particular interest.
